Description -

This program is delivered in the classroom. One day a week for 5 months. There is a two week clinical placement which FACTS will organise for you. Due to regulations all students must have a current police check prior to clinical placement (cost to the student).

Start date : Due to this course being delivered every alternate Wednesday, you can join the class anytime.

Due to OH&S all participants need to have completed a course in Hepatitis B vaccinations before commencement of clinical placement. You will be required to provide a copy of your serology report as evidence of sero-conversion to Hepatitis B surface antigen (anti-HBsAg). Please contact your GP for a blood test. Hepatitis B vaccination can take several months to complete so it is important that you commence this vaccination as soon as you can. Work placement is commenced after all 7 units of competency have been reached successfully by the participant.

Units of Competency - Total 7 units. You must complete all units for successful completion of the course.

COMPULSORY
HLTHIR301A	Communicate and work effectively in health.
HLTIN301A	Comply with infection control policies and procedures in health.
HLTINS302A	Process reusable instruments and equipment in health work.
HLTOHS200A	Paticipate in OHS processes.
HLTDA303B	Prepare for and assist with oral health care procedures.
HLTDA304A	Assist with dental radiography.
HLTDA306A	Assist with administration in a dental practice.
HLTFA301B	Apply first aid. (Student must supply FACTS with a photocopy of their first aid, must have this certificate prior to clinical placement)

Assessment is done online and in the classroom. Students have free access to the internet here at FACTS.

Details - Entry Requirements

• School leavers must have completed year 10 or equivalent with a sound achievement of English. Non-school leavers are selected according to eligibility and merit, vocational experience, previous study and personal experience.
People from non-English speaking backgrounds who have learnt English since arriving in Australia must complete a literacy and numeracy test. This can be done at FACTS.

Start Date: Upon Application, you can join the classes anytime.
