| Description - |
The Certificate III in Health Service
Assistance (Client/Patient Services) may open many doors for you
in the health industry. It enables you to become a competent member
of a team within the hospital field.
This qualification covers workers who provide
assistance to health professional staff. The care assistance tasks are performed under supervision
and may include cleaning duties, food service duties and Nursing Attendant
duties.
Common occupational titles may include wards person,
orderly, patient service assistant + PSA.
These workers may also undertake additional
tasks that may include cleaning, porter, waste handling and serving
clients/patients with meals.
Once you acquire the listed skills and the course
is complete and you have been deemed competent in all units, you
may apply for work within a hospital, that may range from domestic
work through to food services to nursing assistant.
All graduates successfully completing the course will be presented
with a Nationally Recognised Certificate III in Health Service
Assistance.
