Description -
People who pursue a career in aged care and have obtained a Certificate IV in Aged Care, practice in residential facilities within defined organizational guidelines and service plans. These people carry out activities related to maintenance of an individuals well being through personal care and/or other activities of living.

These people may provide services to individuals with complex needs, and/or work with groups of older people. Work may include training and support to promote independence and community participation. This may be provided as part of activities and programs in a variety of settings including residential and center based programs. These people report to service managers and liaise with professionals and other service providers. You may also be required to supervise and/or coordinate a limited number of other workers.

Units of Competency - You must successfully complete all compulsory and elective units.

Dates and Times -

The Certificate IV in Aged Care is delivered in the off-campus mode via Distance Education.

You will have access to ongoing support via telephone, email or face to face at no extra cost. Please make an appointment with Sharon.

Assessment -
Assessment criteria include essays, workbook, multiple choice and clinical placement.

Qualification -

Upon successful completion of the course you will receive a nationally recognised 'Certificate IV in Aged Care'

About the Trainer -

Sharon Laity RN. BN. MNg, MRCNA, Grad Dip Gerontology - Has been a registered nurse for over fourteen years. She has owned and operated her own Aged Care facility. Currently working towards a Masters degree in Professional Education and Training.
