Description -
People who pursue a career in aged care and have obtained a Certificate IV in Aged Care, practice in residential facilities within defined organizational guidelines and service plans. These people carry out activities related to maintenance of an individuals well being through personal care and/or other activities of living.
These people may provide
services to individuals with complex needs, and/or work with groups
of older people. Work may include training and support to promote
independence and community participation. This may be provided as
part of activities and programs in a variety of settings including
residential and center based programs. These people report to service
managers and liaise with professionals and other service providers.
You may also be required to supervise and/or coordinate a limited
number of other workers.

Assessment criteria include essays,
workbook, multiple choice and clinical placement.

MNg, MRCNA, Grad Dip Gerontology - Has been a registered nurse for over
fourteen years. She has owned and operated her own Aged Care
facility. Currently working towards a Masters degree in Professional
Education and Training.
