| Description - |
People who seek an occupation in
the field of disability work may practice in a variety of settings.
This can include residential group homes, training recourse centers,
day respite centers and open employment services, other community
settings and client’s homes. These workers apply their knowledge
and skills gained through qualifications and/or previous experience
to provide care and support to people with disabilities, so to enhance
their ability to achieve greater levels of independence, self reliance
and community participation. These workers report to service managers
and may liaise with health professionals and other service agencies.
Workers in this field may work without direct supervision and may
be required to supervise and/or coordinate a limited number of lower
classified workers.

CHC40302 : Certificate IV in Disability Work.
- The Certificate IV in Disability Work is now being offered in the off-campus mode and in the traineeship mode. If you wish to find out more about traineeships, contacts FACTS for more details.
- Information will be sent out on that date to you via the mail.
- The cost of the course is $2600.00 and your books are $150.00.
- There will be 13 booklets all together that you will be required to work through (in your own time) and once you have finished, you would have completed the theory component of the course. You will have to do the practical component when all units have been deemed competent. The clinical placement will be organized for you.
- The booklets will be sent to you one at a time. When that booklet is completed by you, please send it back to us with a cheque or money order for $200.00. We then correct it and if it is deemed competent, we will then send the next booklet out to you that you have just paid for.
- If there is a 'not yet competent' issue with either booklet, there will be a letter of explanation for when the booklet that requires amending is sent back to you.
- One unit must be completed on campus - CHCCS303A - Provide assistance with medication. We will let you know when this unit is being delivered. You can do this unit anytime; you do not have to complete all workbooks before hand. The cost is $295.00
- Payment plans remain the same. If you finish your course earlier than expected, then payment in full will need to be completed before your certificate can be issued to you.
- You will need to provide a photocopy of a level 2 first aid and a police check, certified true copies, to FACTS prior to clinical placement. You can not do your clinical placement with out it.
- The course is paid in ten installments. Once FACTS has received your first payment, it is deemed the course has commenced. Off campus participants have 5 working days to withdraw to receive a full refund less $150.00 for Administrative and withdrawal fees.
- The course can take anywhere between 12 months to 18 months to complete. It is totally up to you, the student, as to your finishing date. Must have First Aid Level 2 prior ro clinical placement
- Payment system - if you wish to do this course please fill out the "enrol me now" form and attach a cheque or money order for $500.00 to it, this is for your first payment of $200.00 your text books and your enrolment fee.
